The sport package in the 530i...feels like it is over power steered, loose to me. I feel like the non sport packaged cars have a tighter feel to them. I had a 2007 X5 4.8i w/sport package and the optional 20' factory rims. The steering in that was great.
So I was thinking a wider tire might help me achieve that. The X5 came from the factory with 275's on the front and 315's rear.So you think I would be ok with the 255's in the front and the 295's in the rear...with those rims?

Thank you....Dan

My $0.02: I have an '06 545 & found the M5 19" rims fit quite nicely, without rubbing. They have 255 fronts and 295 rears (Conti extreme contact II skins). I bought some 15mm spacers with longer lug bolts to give a wider stance in the rear. 4 adults & a full tanks of gas, on Chicago area roads, and not a scrape yet. Now if I can only figure out why the damn thing just started throwing emissions codes. Grrrrr.

Hope this helps. Good luck with your hunt for new rims...
