2010 550i aux and usb not working
I just picked up this 2010 550i it has Nav, Bluetooth works with phone. I tried using a tune2air on the sub port inside of console. I get no light on unit, so I tried an Apple iPhone cable no power, then tried using 3.5 mm cable into aux, also no sound after selecting front aux.
Not sure if it is the usb/aux port, something else. I'm not sure how/what to check or how to remove the USB port.

You can check the manual to see if there is a fuse connected to it and see. That would of been the first thing I checked before I posted. When you have an issue with your car you should always do the simple checks before posting because most likely when you get an answer from here we assume you have already did the simple checks "check for blown fuse". Especially if you have went on to troubleshooting past level 1 (power). I would not think about removing the port if I have not done what I thought would be the "EASY" fix first.

Check these threads and you can go from there.
Thread 1
It could be a fuse, module, port or coding issue. After checking the fuse then test to see if you get power to the port. If not then it could be the port, coding or module. I would then check my cars config to make sure it is active. If it is then buy the port (cheap fix first). If it still does not work then it is your module. These would be your troubleshooting steps in that order. I do not know if anyone can help you further than that.

No fuse issues here, does anyone know how to take the console apart to get the usb/aux port out? The other question is, how to check to make sure it is active? I see a usb port in iDrive dimmed out, and Front Aux port is Active.

iDrive has Not Connected next to USB port, also no power at usb port in console. In addition the aux port doesn't work either, but shows up in iDrive as Active.

You need to get the software to see what has been activated. After that troubleshoot the hardware portion. You will need to get INPA and install it on your laptop also you need an INPA compatible USB to OBD2 cable. After you get those two then you can perform most of your troubleshooting with the car.
