Default 2010 535i power steering and battery problem...HELP!

Hi I am new to the forum. I have a 2010 535i that I have only had a few months. I took the car for diagnostic testing and everything was fine in November. Saturday I was on the highway with the car in sport and took a sharp curve doing about 50 mph. As soon as I took the turn 2 seconds later the dreaded "BLING" initiated. The dynamic driver malfunction came on and the steering was very difficult. I'm glad I was able to correct the wheel or I would have crashed. Anyhow, thankfully the exit was near. I was close to home at that point and then the battery light came on. I got home and tried to turn the car off and on. I turned it off for a while and upon checking the car it wouldn't start. Tried jumping car (from under hood of course) and it wouldn't start. Next day I got it started but soon as cables were removed it turned off. Shortly after, I checked the power steering and it was empty. I added power steering fluid but the steering is still hard when I am able to turn the car on. If anyone can steer me to what the problem can be? Did I fry the pump? And why did the battery die? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Check to see if the serpentine belt is still in place and has not been thrown. If the belt is off, you may have larger problems. Don't run the engine until you check it out. If the belt was thrown, the engine could have sucked it in past the front seal, which is behind the harmonic balancer. Parts of the belt may be in the oil pan getting sucked into the oil pump, the timing chain and up to vanos assembly. Engine toasted worst case.

You need to have your codes checked. No steering fluid then there must be a leak somewhere. Get the codes and you can start troubleshooting from there.
