Hi all.. I have a 2008 535i that wont crank. Nothing happens when start button is pressed. When i insert key in the slot the key icon will appear on the dashbut when i close the door it goes away leaving a dead dash with not a single light on. Interior lights do work. I used carly to read the codes. Can anybody point me in the right direction. Thanks in advance.

 

How's your battery doing?

 

Sorry forgot to add new battery checked with multimeter at 12.5v and checked fuses and they’re all good. Module maybe? I swapped the kbm module and no change.
edit: battery still not registered. Wanting to get the car running before i start spending more money on her.

 

Unplug battery for 15 mins then try again

 

Had it unplugged for two days lol. Still same.

 

Do you hear a click when you push the start button? Have you tried disconnecting the IBS?

 

What were the codes? Was any work done on the car prior to? Do you have the other key to try out? Check MPM under spare tire for water damage.
