i'm hoping i can get that too!! my VANOS solenoid and a camshaft solenoid were just replaced under warranty. they said i should expect the 15-16mpg to go up by a couple in my 07 530i.

I used to get about 8-10 on my Saleen Mustang, but it had a supercharger on it putting out 12lbs of boost (~550hp at the crank). I am sure I could have gotten better but when you have that much power available it's hard to stay off the pedal..too much fun!!

Best ever on highway, cruise on and set at 110km/h(68mph) with no city driving= 37.6 mpg
Worst ever, 100% city driving in heavy stop and go traffic= 17.1 mpg
Both numbers are very comparable to my retired 325i.
Conclusion: Excellent power for a reasonable mpg price. BTW, Premium gas in Toronto is $1.22/L. or $4.62/ US gal.

06 -530i - with 36,000 miles, I used to get 26mpg on stock setup.

When I upgraded my wheels to
245/40/19 on the front and 275/35/19 on the rear.
I get about 21 mpg 50% city 50% highway. I have the Juce box on my car also that is set to 100% performance and 100% throtle response .

do any of you also reset and read what your average MPH is over a tank of gas? not MPG, MPH. that will tell the truth when it comes to how much city driving you're really putting in. my average MPH over a tank of gas is about 25 MPH, which equals about 16 MPG in my car. the one time i averaged 36 MPH i got 18.6 MPG. if your average speed is over 40 MPH, you're probably driving at least 70% of your tank in highway conditions, even if you are living in a city. it makes a huge difference in mileage calculations.

the 528i and 535i are both 3.0 I6. only difference is the TT that provides the extra power. if u have a BOV on the 535i it would make a BIG difference mpg wise
