bmw093, I guess you're right it is really a non-issue. I can't wait for delivery. What pkg's do you have with yours? If possible post some pics.

Thanks
I have a few less goodies than you: Alpine White, black leather, dark wood, 6M, Sport, Premium, CW, L7, Xenon, IPod/Aux. The 246 sport 18s will blow you away--they are stunning. The car is an absolute machine--like nothing I have ever driven. I had the dealer install the OEM M5 lip spoiler on it (not the deck spoiler, the lip spoiler), and it turned out to be a really nice sporty touch--pretty inexpensive (just under $400 installed). You will love this car and waiting to drive it is a chore.

I know what you're saying concerning the 246 sport 18s. I was at the dealership today and noticed how sweet they looked. I'll post pics as soon as I take delivery.

The only thing that annoys me is the reflectors on the wheel well. Does anyone have any idea where I can get replacements painted the color of the car?
+1 about the reflectors. I was just looking at a 2008 E60 535xi in Boston, and looked hard at the reflector. It's really buried in that wheelwell, not just sitting on the outside where it might more easily be removed. It does look like an inelegant solution to the DOT problem, but I guess it's the price of having a very sleek, clear-cornered headlight module.

I drove the GS350 and did a bit of negotiating. Loved the interior of it--class act through and through. Hated the handling--I felt like I was cornering in my grandfather's 82 Oldsmobile. Ipod is a huge factor too--I don't know if Lexus even has one, and if so I doubt it can compare to how well BMW integrated it. The Lexus is a Toyota, and there's no way around that fact. It's engineered as a Toyota, it shares parts with Toyota, it is 'tinny' like a Toyota, and it handles like a Toyota. My wife has a Lexus and we love it--it's beautiful, dependable, and has some lux to it--but, and she 100% agrees, it's not a BMW. The best way for me to describe it, is that the Lexus had no soul. All BMWs have a soul. Sounds queer and all, but there is an intangible factor within the car that Infiniti, Lexus and Acura just can't duplicate. Don't base your decision purely on money.
I'm doing the research for my better half this decison will be her's . I like the interior of the lexus but you are right the 5 handled like it was on rails! More of a fun car to drive. I'm glad I don't have to make this decision.

Thanks

I got my 528xi last sat/ Love it.
Sport pkg. is good. includes comfort seats-awesome, Steering wheel different shape with metal- better feeling.
Premium pkg: leather, power folding mirrors, ambient lights. love them
Xenon lights : love the cornering feature. I-pod : have not used yet, read people love it.
Comfort access: bought E60 for this feature the most I like(otherwise going for X3), : No need to take out keys, no scratches on car?, will be a nice feature in winter and with hands full, for women with purse in hand-no need to dig for the key.
U should go for Sport pkg, Comfort access- atleast
GOOD LUCK
Got my 528xi too and sure its a gr8 drive.just one question?steering wheel different shape with metal?is the steering wheel different if you have a sports package??has the steering wheel changed in the 2008 models or is it the same as before?

THe GS350 is out!! I agree with your assessment on the handling. We are shooting for one of the 2 iterations of the 528. Now it's time to go and beat up some dealers. I will go no higher than 900 over invoice. If they don't want to talk. I walk! Period.

Thanks

Best of luck. The choice of i vs. xi has been debated over and over here so do a search for some insight. As for the BMW vs. Lexus, it's a tough choice at the time, but now I can't believe I even considered the GS. Hope you score a great deal.
