I agree with you that it is highly likely that 'sports automatic transmission' just is just marketing-speak for the new shift-by-wire pistol grip, steering wheel paddles and upgraded faster steptronic. I would be very surprised if they have a DSG-style transmission; they are working on that but it is supposed to be very early in it's development cycle.
I agree as well, but BMW is always good for a suprise! haha....However, I do know that this FL E60 will have the new shifter like the E70 (07 X5) has.

Updated Color Option: Space Gray has been added. So to make a comment before when we were discussing Plantium Gray, I believe this will be between Space Gray and Titanium Gray.
Do you think they will drop one of more of the current grey/silver variants if they are adding new ones?
If so which greys and which blue do you think will be dropped to make room for (i) platinum grey (ii) space grey (iii) deep sea blue?

I feel Titanium Gray will be dropped. As far as Blue's, none.
And I bet that one of the 2 current blues will be dropped (Mystic/Monaco).

I don't know, Monaco has become a very very very hot color lately. They even offer it on the M6!
So the best wild guess so far is
Silver Grey, Titanium Grey and Mystic Blue will all go to be replaced by 3 colours Space Grey (from E92), Platinum Grey (new Mystery Colour) and Deep Sea Blue (another new Mystery colour)

That may well be the case but it seems to be YOUR best wild guess so far. If I read correctly, bmw1986 indicated that he thought NO blues would be replaced.

So it's YOUR best wild guess. Based on opinions of... one for and one against.
