2007 530xi air filter

I just got my 530xi and want to change the air filter with a AFE Performance Air Filter- Pro 5 R, how do I change it?

after popping the hood, the stock air box is located on the driver's side. the top of the box is held down by 3 clips. once those clips are undone, the lid needs to be lifted off and its a straight swap of filters.

It also helps to remove the clamp around the intake tube, right next to the mass air flow sensor. This makes for an easier pull up of the airbox. In fact, I couldn't expose the entire filter without doing this.

Make sure to reseal this clamp, though.

clean your MAF sensor while your digging around with some crc mass airflow cleaner. you remove the two torx screws and pop the maf out, put a towel underneath and give it a cleaning-this plus a new air filter will give your car a nice bump in smoothness and revving ability
