My 2006 530i smg @ 53,000 miles suddenly displayed the "Transmission Malfunction" notice and limited me to gears R, 1,2and 3. The BMW says the smg pump has failed and will cost $1,000 to repair. Anyone with experience?

 

yeah known issue with SMG, i think the only solution is paying $1000 for repair.
