168 for the plug (and maybe a washer too)?!

that must be some plug..

looks to me like its tranny fluid, and based on the color it needs changing IMO (how many miles you got?)

good luck with repair

put a piece of cardboard under the car when you park it.

Hey,
I just got a 04' 545...left it at home for 2-3 days and then noticed a saturation on the ground. Here are pics...

Is that ATF? I saw some drips forming but there is the cover down there so no telling where it is coming from...

any info would be great
What plug was it? I am having the same problem but cant see exactly where it is coming from its not the valve cover gasket and it has my garage looking like the exon valdes made a stop

I had the same problem with my 04 545i over the thanksgiving holidays, I found a oil spot on the driveway. I took the car to the bmw dealership. My SA called me back and told me it was an oil leak and steering fluid leak.(wow) Thanksfully it was covered under CPO. I am still wondering what caused the leak and what was replaced to fix the problem. I am asuming they let me know when I pick my car up.

common issue with the 4.4 engines. The stupid oil pan is a hard plastic that can crack overtime for many reasons. Heat, bottoming out, or the seal can go. My suggestion, replace the oil pan, gasket and change the oil while at it

I got the oil pan, gasket and oil filter from RM European for LINKY $153 for everything.

Hope this solves the problem. Could have been worse.
