I had this problem. I posted about it here>>>> http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showtopic=...mp;#entry546912

Take them back and hopefully you'll get a new set too

I dropped by the dealership today and they said that I may be covered under warranty but they will have the wheel guy take a look at it. should they replace it or refinish the wheel? It's an 08 with 14k miles and I don't want it to happen again.

I'd push for a new wheel. You saw my issue w/ a refinished wheel. The dealer typically uses a local guy for refinishing, get the new wheel if possible...

This should be covered under new car warranty...and especially if you upped for the wheel and tire warranty (which I was told also covers repair and touch up of curb rash).

don't let them refinish them, make them give you new wheels, you won't be happy unless they replace them..its a brand new car you shouldn't have to worry about your wheels peeling..

I think at best BMW would offer to repair the wheel as it can be done for under $100 at a good wheel shop.

Oh no! Don't tell me my tarantulas are gonna end up doing that!

Hey, JD550, your car looks great! (Making me miss mine at the shop.) Are you sure that's 20% tint? I can see all the way through.

Looks like the curse strikes again. I read this thread on friday. The next day I washed my car and low and behold, one of my 124's is peeling. Luckily, I'm still within the warranty period.

I noticed the same on one of my wheels today, and I wash my car (never been washed by someone else), I only use car shampoo (meguiars gold) and water.

Let us know what did your dealer do about your wheels.
