As stated in many threads, if you've got CCC Navi Professional, then after upgrading your Program version (which cost me ?180 but in the U.S. maybe free) the dealer is then able to retrofit MP3 support for the in-dash CD player. I don't yet know if they're charging me for adding MP3 support because they didn't have the bill ready for me.

Well, I'm +1 for the success stories. They had no problems at my local BMW dealer, and they're nothing special. Pretty small one really - probably the 5th largest out of the 6 or 7 BMW dealers in my town.

The newer grayer opening screen

The display when an MP3 CD is inserted

The newer perspective view previously unselectable. Notice also the new icons on the left and the right-hand part of the screen offers the option of displaying the next turn.

I don't see any changes with 'older' software. The grey screen is used since 2007 I recon.

Nice taste in music, though

Forgot to mention, all my navigation address book entries were lost in the upgrade. Sad but understandable. Something to consider for some people who absolutely definitely can't lose them.

Well, just got my bill. They didn't separate software upgrade and mp3 on the bill, so I don't know what the situation is. All I know is that it says (roughly translated) "upgrade software and retrofit mp3" and I got charged ?180 for it (including VAT).
