Carly will talk to the CAS module but only for coding the brake I believe for your year.
So it is not the CAS from what I see because you would at least get a cranking sound but not start. Have you tried to unplug the car for 20 mins to see if it made a difference.

There should be no reason for your ECU fan to have given out already. You may need to get INPA on the car it is not as hard as you think it is once its installed on a laptop. You need to see what it is telling you before you take the starter out

Guess the guys are helping you out, I've updated/coded a bunch of cars already but never heard of realigning a CAS. Interested to know what you guys mean by that.
