I got a new bumper and I don't think they put the sensor in the right spot...it's clamped into what appears to the proper bracket, but it is pretty much just dangling behind the plastic 'criss-cross' grill piece...the recessed grill piece in the center of the bumper. They have it sorta dangling behind the right corner of that piece. It doesn't seem right at all.
I searched, but only found pre-LCI/older information.
BTW...It would be SOOO nice if people would list what year and model their car is...like in their signature or somewhere. I mean you read stuff about their car....and you don't know if it applies to yours or not, because you have no idea what year or model the car is.

My Ride: 07 E61 530d M-Sport.
My car is a RHD LCI 530d M-Sport and the sensor is over the other side of the bumper to where you have found it in the pic above.
I guess that doesnt really help you though.

Take a look under your car, if there is a cavity in the plastic on the right side, this maybe the sensor.
If never heard, that the place with the red circle is the sensor
