Actually...it sounds more like he hasn't driven a M5. Have you by chance been to Disney World? There is a ride called the "Rockin' Rollercoaster". At the beginning of that ride, you get slammed from 0 to 60ish mph in about 3 seconds. I have not been on the Rockin' Rollercoaster but I have been on a ride some thing like that, dose 0-60 in under 3 sec and wow I loved it.

how tuned would a 535 (or 55o) have to be to beat an M5 around a track? (straight line, im guessing, is pretty much out of the question)
