All this talk of 2+ mile long tracks obviously doesn't apply. And no, the M5 can't beat an E63 AMG in a straight line. In your "proof," what was it, a half a block?? There has not been one published test where the M5 beat an E63 AMG in a straight line.
I think our talk of a 2+ mile track should apply for your point above, since you referenced "half a block". LOL! Wouldn't you agree, Gregg? It was just a bit shy of 2 miles, wouldn't you say? I'd think that's a pretty good indicator. Now granted, his car(E63 AMG) is bone stock and my car has a few extra goodies. It could have also been the driver(s), slippage of tires from the start, etc.. However, we did do a few runs and we've done other runs before from a rolling start. I wouldn't say any car is outright beating the other. If anything, it's an extremely close race. However, from the races we did, the M5 did win.

In case those that missed it, we even have a video posted of the AMG/M5 race from last weekend. You can also hear, courtesy of member poleposition, some commentary that goes something like this... "Damn, the M5 spanked him".

Is the M5 the fastest car on the road? Of course not. Not even close. But compared to the rest of the 5 series models, it's a completely different car. Aside from the engine and the raw power, there's much more to the car. The chassis, the suspension, etc.. This is what gives the car such a big advantage over it's little brothers. And once you master how to drive an M, that becomes a huge advantage, in it of itself.

They didn't sprinkle magical fairy dust on it at the factory...
You are exactly correct...instead, they used dust from the "make it go fast as sh!t" bottle...

This reminds me of the Tuned 335i vs Stock M3 threads I have read in the past.

Obviously the M5 is a MONSTER and I would not compare it to the other 5 series cars but bang for the buck a tuned 535 sure is a nice option...poor man's M5 lol

Sibling rivalry...

Even on a slow track, lets say an auto x event, the M5 would be victorious in stock form. LSD for the FTW! Now if you had a 535i with upgraded everything (BBK, coilovers, sways, exhaust, LSD, vishnu module) then you'd have a close race.
