But as NA is their most important market, while they milk Germany with most cars sold, they will take better care of you folks.
I feel exactly the same, but also remember the US laws and lawyers also!

BMW Suomi (Finland) especially but also BMW Nordic seems like only a annoyance for BMW Ag.

Liability in US is one thing but BMW does rank their market and clients. A friend of mine got a preemptive change of injectors in Switzerland while they refuse to change the whole set on my car despite the third breakdown in two weeks. Last week my personal service guy in Munich Mr. Goll who had congratulated me with a letter at my purchase said this:

"Your dealer offered a 1 and a 3 gearbox station wagon what do you want according to your contract you have no legal claim for a replacement car....
There are no other replacement cars in your vicinity that I see and I am not David Copperfield I cannot help you.......
You are not the only client driving a 60.000 Euro car...."

I picked up the phone called the biggest car rental company and within five minutes I had a 530d replacement 30km away from me that I rent on my money.

This is Premium Service in Europe folks in US and we pay 40% more for the same car than NA. This is no offense against americans but an example of a company that is so keen on one part of the market that they abandon their home market. I have the very feeling this will fall back on BMW. I will do a serious evaluation of a LEXUS GS when I am back home.

When I start up my car, it revs up to 1000~1100rpm smoothly, with no sense of shakiness or rocking of the car.

However, when it idles down to 600rpm, it starts to become rough, and it's felt on my seat and the steering wheel.

The BMW service center here has recommended setting the idle rpm slightly higher (eg., 800rpm),
and this has proven to be effective to some people with same problems.

Is this rough idle a known problem with 08 528i N52 engine?

Is it okay to set the idle rpm a little higher? What could be drawbacks..?
I don't feel comfortable with interfereing such settings.

Thanks.

I am in the process of trying to get BMW Canada to explain why they can't fix the vibrations and/or what they're willing to do about it. These vibrations do not occur on the 535I.
