I'm on the same boat too. I was recommended by my friend, Takman(member of this forum), to go with Mercury. He got serviced at a bmw dealership and Mercury paid out $600 and was easy. Did hear that some 3rd parties could take a long time or will even refuse to reimburse or pay for it. I am considering Mercury myself.

It was their top of the line exclusionary policy. It list what it does not cover.
Try googleing it. I saw it online somewhere.

I don't know if Warranty direct operates in USA, they do in UK and I have been with them for the past two years , their service is excellent and any car under 100k is covered including Idrive etc . I pay around £500 for elite service.

Find out from BMW when your car was placed in service. Your warranty will expire either 4 years from that date or 50k miles - whichever comes first.

08 models were built and placed in service as early as spring 07, so you could have less than a year left.
