07 525xi crank no start
Below 40f crank won’t start almost does every time soon as it over 40 outside you would think I’m nuts fire right up runs incredible I’d get lucky and fired below 40 will always restart until aleast sitting 4 hours in the cold then it’s a gamble brand new battery and fuel pump oem and I resgistered battery any info would be great suspecting freezing fuel pump module maybe
Hard to follow a running sentence. Cranks/starts above 40 degrees. Cranks/no start below 40 degrees (after sitting a while). Is that correct?

Am I in high school your correcting my gramma I’m an ase l1 master certified tech 30 years in industry very simple cranks no start only in cold weather has codes occasionally not all the time have bmw factory level scanning laptop and snap on Zeus with every option
I used to write the code for an engine management system: 1 cam sensor, 1 crank sensor. Without a valid cam sensor, one would not know when to initiate spark. No spark = no run.
If you replace the cam sensors and the engine will still not start, AND you continue to get cam errors, I suggest the following: When the engine is running, take note of the relationship between the cam signals and crank signal as they appear at the DME. You will need an oscilloscope. Then, compare to what is seen when the engine does not start.
If they differ, the problem lies in the sensors or wiring prior to the DME. If they are the same, and you still get cam errors, I would suspect a solder joint in the DME itself.
