hey all- i posted yesterday about my car being ready for pickup....had one year service and gave them a list of ISSUES to fix as well....i took it in about a month early cuz my idrive screen went out.....wouldn't boot etc....MY MAIN CONCERN or care was actually gettin the mp3 capability...cuz reading some posts it looks as though i had missed the boat by a month on the build date.....
but i got it back and it worked perfect.....had made a test mp3 CD using nero WAY back...and popped it in and it worked......
the service advisor at long beach assumed i meant the aux/input or ipod module when i asked but i had to explain more clear about the MP3 FROM the in dash CD unit.....he seemed to sorta click with what i said and it worked......
i know they obviosuly upgraded my software....i was prior on the v16....i don't know how/where to read the invoice if it even shows the version, but i imagine it's the most recent in the 20's......
i complained of the transmission slam...about my bluetooth not ending calls correctly, the battery drain warning.....they "looked" into all these on the invoice and it seems as though the upgrade handled all of them.....
i did noticed that it read in the notes that " first time programing, the vehicle system crashed, restarted CIP and reprogramed second time inc cas and nav...after programing tvu not able to enable services, special measure tcu"
for the bluetooth complaint the resolve was "reprogramed encoded telematics control unit"
for mp3, resolve was "retrofited vehicle's order for MP3 option per SIB 65 30 05

i played around with the acceleration alot since i read alot of complaints about the shifting and speed...
i honestly didn't notice anything better or worse than before....i noticed it seemed like the gear shifting needed to relearn my driving when in DS.....but it didn't seem any faster or slower in my opinion....
my brakes did seem "very good" but i think that was just from driving the loaner X3 for two days....i don't see how a service would affect the brakes.....
was glad to have it back after two days.....
