I guess I'll have to wait until someone breaks it down into layman's terms.

I'm currently using the AUX in the rear of the armrest/console. So... what's the advantage/difference hooking up my iPod your way?
(Sorry for asking -what may be- a dumb question, but I've just been starting to test the 'modding waters'... )

Thx!
Hahaha, same here! How many different radio systems are there from 2004-2010, and which ones will this mod work with? I have a 2006 530xi w/o Nav, w/o CDC, w/o AUX. Will this work in my car? I'm also in the same boat as Serv, where my Android phone connects to the car thru BT, will it affect the BT function of the car?

Bruce, what type of switch do you recommend? Unfortunately, my electrical engineering knowledge is a bit limited and there are so many different types:

Any particular specs we should consider?

Would either of these work?

Here's the link to the Mouser page: http://www.mouser.co...witches&FS=True

Sorry, waited too long to edit :/

There are so many options, not sure where to start?

I have a 2006 530i with factory nav. and 6 CD changer in the glove box, and Logic 7. I'm very interested in adding the aux. , the dealer here wants $450.00 to do this simple addition. Would this MOD work for me?

I have the same question as MDOT above. I use my iPhone through the car's BT all the time, would this have any effect on the operation?

thanks much,

Serv
Same-same,
2006 530i, Logic7, NAV, 6-Disc, BT phone...and single CD/mp3 playback DOES work. Looking for 'simple' iPhone hookup (AUX? I have no use for 6-disc changer)

Hi. I wired the aux plug onto existing x13813. But the sound still plays only on the front speakers and very poor sound quality. Please help.
