I am planning on adding a subwoofer in my trunk to my 2006 550 (non-L7). There has been a ton of great information in these forums to help me plan this all out. It seems some have tapped the signal off the factory sub amp and some have taken the signal from the rear speakers.

My question - are the rear speakers full range? I understand that the front speakers are not full range. they seem to be high-passed at about 150-200 hz. I had assumed the rears would not be full range since they are just 4" speakers. Is there any "proof" on this subject?

None of the speakers are full range. All signals are crossed over at the HU itself.

It sums the the hi freq and low freq signals to get a full range signal.
