Speaker issue

My Ride: I HAVE A 2004 530I MOSTLY STOCK EXCEPT FOR 22IN ASANTI AF128 BLACK, I HAVE A 6 SPPED MANUAL TRANS. IT ALSO HAS DOOR CURTAINS WHICH I LIKE ALOT. NAVI. I HOPE TO CHANGE MY SEATS TO COMFORT SOON.
Speaker issue
Hello all,
My drivers door speaker went out and sounds like its a blown out speaker but after replacing the speaker it still sounds distorted. I was told that it is the stock amp in my car, it's the hifi setup and my car is 04 530i. I just wanted to see if anyone could help me with the validity of that info.

It's plausible. However, I could be wrong but the amp is built into the main head unit on the 10 speaker hi-fi setup. The only external amp powers the under-seat subs.

So do you have any ideas of what it could be?

You can PM members Technic and nelson29. They are pro car audio installers and modders in the forum and know the different audio flavors of the E60 very well. I would trust their judgment before mine on this issue.
