Bruce, mp3 enable is not a requirement... members nigxdoof & nelson29 got their GW500 while their M-ASK isn't mp3 capable.
Bruce, or anyone else.........Following the above post Please confirm if MP3 enable is a requirement ?
In other words, is it possible to fit the Dension per the instructions above as long as you have the 6 Disc changer (CDC), but no MP3 capability.

Thanks.

In an American 550, where exactly did everyone mount the Dension piece?

Yes the Dension will work with mp3 but you will get no text on the screen. I mounted my Dension on the side wall of the car under the glove box behind the trim pieces. Used double sides velcro to stick in in place.

Thanks Bruce! Do I simply pop those rivet-type plastic things that hold up the glove box when you open it? To remove the plastic trim piece below the glove box, do you just tug on it to pop it off?

Thanks!

My Ride: My Bimmer's info is in my sig, so I'll tell you about my garage toy. It's a 1997 Porsche Boxster. The car is black on black and I have replaced every single thing on the car (interior, exterior, drivetrain, suspension) except for the sheet metal and the convertible top (both of which will be next I guess). I love my Pcar more than any other car I have ever owned and will probably keep it for the rest of my life. Porsche. There is no substitute.

Which model number should I be looking for? Part no. GW51MO2 / GW51D2B????

Also where are you guys finding them the cheapest in the USA?

I found one of each model number for sale on eBay brand new for $449...

First off, excuse me for ressurecting an old topic. I just took delivery of my new 2005 525d, and am now a happy puppy. While searching the forum to find out if my changer is MP3 capable (it isn't...) I happened on this topic. And, I might want one of these But, as I have mere 'Business' nav (small screen), it is not 'text capable'. Can anyone explain, with pictures if possible, what that actually means?

Thanks!

I'm about the get my Dension installed (need to make the appt) and was wondering who did your install? I'm in Clarksburg, so NoVA isn't too far away if you have a recommended shop. Otherwise I was going to try Meyremco. Although I would like to do this myself, I think this may be WAY over my head.

I've read this thread at least 4 times and I'm still confused if the DIY shown is out of date or not.
