[quote name='roost' date='Oct 13 2004, 07:23 PM']Was Checking on how you felt about removing the 530 off the back of my car. I think it looks great with out it, But since I got a 530 instead of a 545 does it look like I am trying to fool people.

Wouldn't worry about it. In Europe, there's an option to delete model designation. I've done it on several of my previous BMWs. Like the clean look. One hint, if you do remove the badge, I found that using waxed dental floss to remove the badge followed by WD-40 or Goo Gone to remove the adhesive works great. Follow it up with some good wax and you're good to go. Also, don't wait too long, otherwise there could be fading from the exposed paint vs. unexposed section.

You mentioned not to wait too long, otherwise the paint might fade. So...how long is too long? I have a Silver Gray model and have owned it for 11 months. Do you think this is too long? Also, does anyone know if the dealer will ding us for removing? My car is leased.
Thanks,
Luke

Hi. Can someone pls assist me with an idiot-proof step-by-step guide on how to remove the badge. I've been thinking of doing it, but am afraid that I'd damage the paint.

Is the badge simply affixed on the car with double-sided tape?

Thanks so much!!

You can use a hairdryer to apply some heat and then simply remove with your hand, use some nail polish remover to remove the adhesive In fact get your woman to do it she has the tools!!!!

JDN, he's a spammer. Ignore his posts and don't click on his links -- I'm sure Lomag will delete the posts as he did yesterday...
