Well done. It is so tight in there, I was very glad to get it over with. I didn't even dare to try to take pictures.

So I'm a bit lost....I'm planning on using my own flip switch on a pre lci 530i. How do i wire this setup? Do i need to run a wire from LCM #33 to the flip switch and also another wire from the headlight switch #9 to the flip switch? Trying to get a game plane before i start to take apart everything...thank you

Hey Paul-g, did you buy the euro headlight switch? If not can you explain how to connect the wire from LCM #33 to an aftermarket switch?

Where did you get your switch? I am tired of having to hunt for my switch, and would like the factory look.

this is an ancient thread--but trying to resurrect it!

I did this and got two fogs, on per side--is that normal? i thought it was only supposed to be one?

also the BMW Euro switch i got had a flat black switch while mine is silver in the center--anyone know how hard or how to remove the circular knob to swap with the silver one that came with my car?

thanks

I just did this and the next morning got a "high battery drain" warning in iDrive... Has any one else experienced this? I swapped the old switch back in (with the jumper wire still in place,) left it overnight, and no battery drain warning.

Possibly related, the instrument dimmer wheel does not work on the Euro switch, instruments stay at full brightness regardless of it's position. It has a different notchy feel as opposed to the stock which is smooth, so perhaps that switch isn't recognized by the LCM (and is perhaps related to the battery drain?)
