Great job!!! I am VERY interested in doing this for a US spec 2008 528i. Do you have more details on the install? For example:
1) How did you route the wiring in the seat? Did you have to remove the seatback trim to fish the wire from the hole you drilled towards the top?
2) How did you route the power for the monitor module and dvd player to the trunk? Is there a power tap in the trunk to work with?
3) It looks like you drilled holes in the top of the back seat for the monitor trim. Do you have more detail about how you did this? Where exactly are those holes in the seat frame?
4) Do you think my US spec 2008 528i has the same mounting holes in the seat trim?
5) It looks like you used a piece of sheet metal or aluminum to secure the monitors to the trim - was this the purpose of using that piece of metal or was there another purpose?
If you have any additional pictures you could post, it would be great! If you'd like to email me any further info, please use hd54321 @ gmail . com
Thanks!!

Nice and clean DIY, but aren't you concerned with safety?
If the front seats are pulled all the way back, than rear passengers may have their heads go through the LCD screens. (in case of a hard stop / accident).
There's no way I would ever buy a used car modded like this.
Consider removing those screens and getting replacement front headrests with embedded LCDs. There are several options out there.

Yes, I saw the picture with the part number/box and, again, I think the integration work done looks very OEM and very clean, but the screens "steal" so much space behind the front seats, that I just can't believe there's no effect on rear passenger crash safety.
I may be wrong - my perception is from the images shown here (and I should probably trust BMW to not offer a safety-compromising accessory/part) but I do wonder if in the series of crash tests done to the 5 series a car with such displays was used.

That looks awesome have to say.
One question though, how did you hook up the AV cables on the back on the AV plug below? Doesn't look like they are standard RCA plugs at the back right?

These days I think a couple IPad mounts back there would be a better screen and more functional and cheaper.
