quick question regarding the tools needed for changing the rear brake pads on the e60.

i was just wondering what tool and size i would need to remove the guide bolts on the caliper?

in this document http://forums.e60.net/index.php?act=attach...st&id=40866

bmw refers to it as special tool 34 1 080. it says it's a bit holder for a 5/16" bit. if anyone has any insight into this, please let me know. i've done brake pad changes on my acura legend, tl, and s500 and i've never had this much trouble.

thanks!

AFAIK, the caliper bolts are just standard Metric Allen key type - nothing "special tool" about them.

yes standard metric, PS on the e61 the access to them was poor requiring a long extension
