Oil filter location in 2007 530i

My Ride: 2007 530i, build 03/06, European delivery 05/05/06, Mystic Blue Metallic, Beige Dakota leather and Poplar Grain wood trim. Options: Sport Package, Active Steering, Park Distance Control, Premium Package, and Cold Weather Package. Upgrades: BMW Ellipsoid (Styling 121) cast alloy wheels, AC Schnitzer Aerodynamics Kit, 3M Clear Bra, and RaceMesh Grill.
Default

Just buy the filter and oil from your BMW dealer. I have the N52 engine and the BMW filter was about $9.00 including the o-ring and the BMW synthetic oil was under $5.00/qt after your BMW CCA discount. You will need 7 quarts of oil.

Oil Filter - N52 Engine, 11.42.7.541.827
BMW Synthetic Oil 5W-30 1qt, 07.51.0.017.866

Are you sure the oil filter is located at the top of the engine? I thought it was at the bottom.

The original post was for a N52 engine. The filter is at the upper left corner of the engine between the air cleaner and the engine. Right behind the oil cooler.

Stupid embarrassing question, but I'm trying to take the oil filter cap off of my 530i 2007, but it won't budge. Now is it follow the same rules of lefty loosie and tighty righty? I see arrows but no idea if that to tighten or loosen.
