Hey guys,

Every two to four months, I have to take my car to a tire shop to dismount and mount the tire to fix the air from leaking from the bead. I think another tire is doing the same thing! The four tires (bought them new) are two years old and the tread looks like they have at least 80% thread left. What can I do to permanently fix this annoying slow leak?

Can anyone tell me what is the standard warranty on new tires without optional insurance?

Man, I hope not! The guy who fixed the slow leak twice thus far, didn't say anything about my wheel being bent.

I had the same issue with 4 new Toyo's. After 5 months of light use i had
air leaking from the 2 drivers side tires at a very slow rate. After some
time i figured out the 2 left tires were leaking because i let them run
at low psi as soon as the weather turned cold here in NY.
It took a few miles at 10-12 psi in 10 dgr temps to destroy the belts
in the shoulder and side walls. As a result the beads in the two drivers side
tires front and back could not remain seated in the rim.
It F-bomb blows when the tires are somewhat new with plenty of tread
and leaking for no apparent reason. Well, now i know...
You can trash the tires.

I took my car to the tires shop today and the owner said the peeling of the chrome from the inside of the rim (where the beads make contact) is peeling. He sanded it down, cleaned it up and applied a black sealer before he mounted the two right tires back on. Before the work, he put the two tires in water to check for leaks, none could be detected because they were minor problems (takes 4-7 days to go from 43 PSI to 20 PSI). Let's hope I can come back in a month (or year!!!) and confirm the mystery is solved. :-)
