Oil Capacity on 545i

I thought when you the oil on a 545i there's primary drain plug AND a secondary drain plug also?

Also clean out the oil filter holder!

The filter is a little tricky. You need a 6mm hex socket and a 22 or 24mm wrench, I can't remember which. The 6mm socket unscrews a drain plug in the bottom of the filter housing. You need the wrench to hold the molded nut head so you can remove the drain plug. If you just use the 6mm hex socket, you will loosen the whole housing and oil will go everywhere.
The correct sizes are T40 for filter, T50 for drain plug, and 24mm wrench to hold the filter in place.

I had 3645 miles on mine. I drained 9 quarts of oil out of the pan, I put back 8.5 quarts.
So this would let me to beleive that it was overfilled from factory or the oil started to multiply/grow

Unless you consider the one on the bottom of the filter housing, there is No Secondary Drain Plug.

I am glad I could help ya'll out. As I said, next time I will take pictures and post them in a step by step format for all to use.
