Sorry to revive such an old thread.
I have the same problem running a Virtual XP machine within Windows 7 64-bit. I am getting errors installing the FTDI drivers on the VM. The driver shows up in the Device Manager, but says it is not working.
Also, did you install EDIABAS, INPA, and NCSExpert in the VM? I am running INPA successfully in Win7 64-bit, but have no luck just running NCSExpert in the VM.
