Sounds like bad NJ/NY Roads + under-inflated tires may = bent rims.

Any tire damage as a result or only rims getting beat?

what is your tire pressure?

if i go with 19" in nyc, i will do 245/40/19 instead of 35, but 275/40 will not be good

If you are using your E60 as a daily driver in a NYC winter, you should get 17s or 18s for your winter wheels. You need more sideall.

245mm = 24.5cm/2.54cm/1in=9.64inches on a factory M5 wheel which rear is 9.5 inches. If someone confirms M5 rear wheels are 9.5 inches, you can use it. If m5 rear is 10 inches, u are risking it. Might as well get 255 all around if that's the case. Hope this helps.

Did you buy your wheels used? That could be the case as the previous owner may have bent them.
