I need to run a wire from the rear license plate area to the trunk interior. I am installing the rear sensor/transmitter for a ZR3 Laser Shifter. The unit mounts to the rear license plate with the same screws that hold the license plate to the frame. Any thoughts on how to best get from the outside to the inside of the trunk would be appreciated.

There are two light fixtures to illuminate the license plate. There is also a rubberized cover over the trunk release. Are there instructions anywhere on how to remove either of these? Thank you in advance for your assistance!
