Hey guys..

Someone was mentioning that the existing battery should be unplugged before you hook up the amplifier. Is that necessary?

I have never unplugged my car battery from the car before adding an amp on any other car I have worked with. Normally I would make sure my ground is set up properly, then hook up the power wire to the battery as my final step.

Reason I'm concerned is because I don't want to have to reprogram the radio or lose anything from leaving the battery detached from the car.

Thanks guys. Any info would be much appreciated.

Have a E61 lci with hifi and was gonna replace the amp.

Took signal from org wires and spliced to rca.
Used output Wires to speaker to amp.

Hooked it up to a separate battery and all playef nicely.

So went on and Installed all in car with a grund from a bolt in chassi and 12v directly to battery with fuse. Used the 12v outlet in trunk as remote.

Everything started and have a constant distorsion.. A interferance.

Tried giving power from battery with remote, used other cables, even Hooked all up straight to battery.

Nothing works.

But if i connect to a separate battery all is good.

What am im missing?

And no the plug is not connected to the old amp
