Have no clue. Mine were M5 mirrors from MY 2006 and they have same plugs as the LCI. I did buy them when I bought my MY2006 525i Touirng back in 2005.

Hai i have speak with some guys about the folding option.

for mirrors pre 9-2005 the door modules are simmular, i think you need only the window button for folding.

And you muss reprogramm the vechicle order in option SA 430 (folding mirrors) and in the sub menu for FRM, you can do all this with the bmw OPS digianostic tool.
You need somebody he can handle good with the OPS.

I have looked for usa cars and european cars and for an m6, all modules (door) in group 51 are the same number. That way i think it is an programm issue.

here some pictures of the OPS tool every bmw dealer have one. for olders models you need the GT1 group tester.

Can you tell me what exactly I should tell my dealer to do. Because I ask a few bmw dealers and they said they cannot reprogram it? If you can help us out and make a detailed direction to how to reprogram the car. That way I can show my dealer the steps on how to do it. Because I really also think its programing issue?
Thanks

I dont have the ops tool ;-(

but i think you muss reprogramm the ground computer for option SA 430 thats the option for auto dimming and auto folding mirrors. it does not matter that the mirrors for m6 or normal e63 stock mirrors both mirrors option sa 430 have the same options like auto dimming, folding, led lights, auto dip, reverse tilting, heated. i think go look with that ops tool in some sub menu's from the car, you muss think for option sa 430 folding mirrors that the car computer nows that there is auto folding mirrors is installed. give the car a another vechicle nummber with option sa 430. Maybe your bmw dealer can contact bmw germany and ask them what the differne.t things are for cars with auto folding, okay whe now all that you need the window button, but what is more differen't maybe your bmw dealer can ask that to bmw gemany??

but anyway i am bussy to ask more information to help you guys in the states ;-)

Another question for rsyed,

Why did you have to cut the wires between the M5 mirrors ECU and the LED lights in the mirrors. Weren't they connected via a plug? The M5 mirrors I'm playing with at the moment have the LED lights connected to the ECU via a detachable plug.

Hmmm they all are... brown/gray wire page #21 & #22 from your DIY and/or pic #3, #4 & #5 on http://forums.e60.net/index.php?s=&sho...st&p=572216, no? The black plug is clipped to the base inside the mirror... at the back of the folding motor housing.

They were, See your own photos http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showtopic=...st&p=572216

So in other words you didn't need to cut those two wires out. Infact to be perfectly honest I think you didn't need to cut a lot of the wires. I can understand needing to cut the wired from the folding motors but otherwise everything else could have stayed.
