DIY: shadowline with plasti-dip on E60

I'm experienced with paint and I wouldn't use Plasti-Dip fro this purpose. If I HAD to, i would peel that tape away very carefully before it sets. Otherwise you'll have issues. I would personally remove the trim from the vehicle if forced to use Pasti-Dip.... this stuff is a rubber coating designed for tools and for wires. I use it on wires all the time. And let me tell you, it doesn't last forever. If you use the right paint and do it right it will.

did this this weekend with near perfect results, just follow his instructions and you cant go wrong

I did this over the course of the last year, lower straight pieces, then the curved trim. It is holding up very well.

nice! came out very clean. im almost at 2 weeks in with 2 washes with a couple days of rain last week and still holding up like day one. glad to see my post helped a fellow member

still like the day i put them on. hard to believe how well this last, not even any fading in color!

Excellent work gentlemen.
Just seen a friend over at Motorcepts yesterday & he was telling me about this Plastic Dip he used on his trim.
Never even heard of the stuff, these results are very convinicing..
Next off days got myself a project...
Would cooler weather say mid 40's have any effect on the application?

Hey Andre, I applied the plastidip recently in the cold didnt seem to affect it.
