I have bought the rear view mirror with remote control from Ebay.

The guys at BMW Munich sold me the required additional cable, which ist part# 61 12 0 140 175 at 13,49 EUR. It only has three wires as already indicated by hobi.

I just finished the WDS research and have compiled a document I would like to share with you:Rueckpiegel.pdf

I'll try the retrofit tomorrow...

Just finished the upgrade:

I searched almost two hours for the cable which goes two the light module A3 on pin 65. Finally, I noticed that the connector could be decomposed pretty easy and ... pin 65 was not wired on my 2003 525! However I insereted a new connector to this pin and now everything works fine.

With the mirror cable I also retrofitted the voice control option to the CCC. Pretty cheap but convincing mod! No software upgrade was necessary, maybe because I already had bluetooth and the multifunction steering wheel.

Excellent!

Interesting that the voice didn't need a software update. When was your car built?
