Yikes! A credit card??? I'd be worried about scratches. Next time, use dental floss. It's safer.

I paid 10 bucks to the detailer to debadge it since I have no experience of doing that.
So, I dont have to worry about it.

Am I mistaken or is it mostly black cars that people want to debadge...?

I think it's a pretty mixed bag. However, the darker colours do look a darn sight sexier debadged.

I debadged my titanium silver 530xi a short while after I got it in May of this year. Just a few months ago I was getting out of my ride at work and one of my fellow pharmacists was sitting outside near the car. Later in the day she asked me what model the car was because she didn't see any badging on the rear. After I explained what I had done, she said, "Oh.... because I like how 'clean-looking' it is along the back of the trunk."

And this came from a early 30's woman who doesn't know much at all about cars! It was something she couldn't put her finger on till I told her. It was at that moment that I thought about how many people on here used the same terminology ("Clean") to describe the look without the badge, but to hear it from a non-biased, non-car person sealed the sentiment for me.

Now, if I had a 550i, I think I'd have left the badge on!

Very nice that BMW doesn't use "locating pins" under their badges...otherwise there'd be a hole in the trunk lid once the badge is removed...nice to know, I too and one for "declutter" and stealth mode. Some of the Japanese cars on the road today have 3 or 4 badges on the rear...not counting dealer added badges. I always wondered about something...In the Eastern and Midwestern areas of the country (US) I notice that auto dealers have a tendency to "badge" vehicles with their name...not just the license plate frame...but actually sticking (and in some cases riviting) the badge into the rear of the trunk lid...I would not accept the car if that was the case and in years past you could even see where the car was starting to rust where the rivets were. Now, I haven't seen the rivited badges in a while...but sheesh, that's nuts!! Glad that out here in the West that is not the practice. I don't even let them drill the front bumper fascia for the front plate.
