All i'm saying is that you should NOT use the CAS .TRC as manipulation, you will not edit CAS and you cannot use .MAN when coding VO. You won't even have to enter "work" folder. (ONLY to see that the changes/new values got thru) You should not use "revtors profile" nor "FSW_PSW" profile. You should use "expert profile"

I have already explained how to code VO properly and it's really simple:

Change VO, FA_WRITE CAS & LMA. Choose chassi, choose CAS, F6 back, make sure CAS is selected and SG_CODIEREN is also selected. Then F3, execute job. Now you have properly coded CAS according to the new changes that was made to VO. Enter work folder to check CAS ONLY to se that your VO coding got thru, you new VO should be displayed in the .TRC (New batterie type) Do not edit!

The battery in my 02/2006 e60 just started to go bad. Colder weather here in Belgium just set in and after leaving the fan/radio/other-comforts on without the engine running resulted in a non-starting car.
I swapped the factory battery out for a 110ah varta, the biggest one available. I coded LMA and CAS with -B110 after removing the 90ah from VO. Processed the CAS and LMA, fired up inpa and f5'ed my way to a new battery. inpa shows 110ah installed with 0km. Works a charm.

Big thanks to SAS who helped me out earlier this year with the correct software's.

Anyone know if most proper group sizes will work such as one of these : ODYSSEY Batteries - Find a Battery

Seems like better construction than what dealer sells and for same or less $

You will need to verify the width, length, height, correct polarity post position, and gas vent tube position. I just put in an Autozone Duralast Gold 95R battery. It was an exact fit in every way and I performed a battery swap registration with EDIABAS.

I'm thinking the Odyssey is sealed, thus no vent tube. We'll see.

I'm trying to register a new battery on my 2006 E60 with N52 engine. I'm trying to run INPA but for some reason I only see the M54 engine. When I select that and then try to do a RESET for the IBS histogram, I get an error "ERROR_ECU_SUBFUNCTION_NOT_SUPPORTED_INVALID_FORMA T". Is this because I'm using an M54 engine when my engine is actually N52?

Also. In NCSEXPERT, if I run the job for registering the battery, will it also reset the IBS histogram?

Battery registration is done first, followed by IBS histogram reset. That's the order in instructions I've found. They are separate jobs, apparently.

In INPA, on the MSD80 PM (power management) menu for my E60, there are two options that are be used:

F5 record batterychange
F6 histogram reset

A screen image is attached.

What version of INPA do your u have? The one I have does not have the Power Management on the menu? Also I don't have MSD80, only the one for the M54 engine.

INPA 5.00. Under E60 / Engine, I see MS 45.0 for M54.

Status Analog / Digital
IBS - Powermanagement

F5 record batterychange
F6 histogram reset

I get an ERROR_ECU_SUBFUNCTION_NOT_SUPPORTED_INVALID_FORMAT message when I click on histogram reset.
