Default Coding Newbie - How do I enable MP3 playback??

Right, I have been searching this afternoon but have found varying results and still am not sure exactly what to do.

First off, I take it I need NCS Expert to do this, rather than INPA?

I have a 07/2005 build 535d and it has the iDrive and CD Changer.

What are these files you need for NCS? Is there somewhere I am supposed to go to download specific files for the car so that I can access things?

How do I actually do the coding for the MP3 playback? I believe there is somewhere I have to go to set it to "activ"?

Sorry for the total noob questions but I haven't done this before and have only just had the cable arrive today.

It's unclear whether there's software with it (I'm not at home yet) so is there a consensus on where to download it from if not?

Many thanks!

I'm interested in the same think. I guess @JayCartay means CCC module a.k.a. Professional Navigation when he says iDrive.

My question is how to enable the MP3 Playback for the CCC unit. After swapping the MASK with CCC, I was able to activate the MP3s via NCS Expert and option MP3 -> Full (If I'm not mistaken), but in the CAPPL module I cannot find MP3 or anything referring tom MP3 playback.

I figure it out.

In the CAPPL module there is an option MP3_CCC (strange that I didn't saw this last few times when I was searching for MP3 string in the trace file), setting it to FULL will bring the MP3 playback if your car has updated CCC software. Mine actually reads DVD MP3 which is nice

For the MASK unit if you have Business Navigation, the MP3 can be activated via option MP3 in MASK module, setting the value to FULL (or aktiv) not sure which one was the right one.
