My Ride: BMW E60
Model Year: 2016
Read my posts from way back. I have no footwell either, so I tapped it to my dome. The wiring is hidden away through the A pillar.
And on that note, I actually bought the parts to retrofit footwell and it arrived yesterday. I'll either spend today, tomorrow, or Saturday, and get it installed

My Ride: BMW E60
Hi guys. Nice DIY, great job.
My car(E60 from 2005 with bi-xenon) doesen't have "DRL's" option. So I was wondering to do something a little bit nuts. My headlamps works this way: when I start the engine, all lights are off. Whether I have the low beam on or off, if I pull the lever towards me(to flash), the two halogen H7 go on. If I push the lever towrds the windshield, when the low beam is on, the high beam xenon ignite + also the two H7 bulbs. (I'm saying this, because I have the European model and I dont't know if the Us or Uk models differ.)
So, what I want to do is this: take a wire and connet it to the cig. lighter with a wire tap, then route the wire to the two halogen lights(add a diode somewhere in between, I assume). With a wire tap, connet the wire from the cig. lighter to the halogen wires for when I turn the ignition on, the two bulb will ignite. Off course I will replace the 2 H7 halogen bulbs with H7 Led bulb so there will be less heat in the headlamp.
Here I need your help and advice. If I do this, when I will pull the lever towards me to ignite the lights(to flash), they will actually go off ? And another question, how can I manage to automaticaly turn off the H7 bulb when I turn on the angel eyes and the low beam ?
Sorry for my bad english.
All the best,
Gabi.

My Ride: 2007 530i, Full M-Tech kit, CF Hamann front lip, M5 trunk lid, 20" iForged swift, LCI Tail Lights, Remus Quad Exhaust.
Hey guys I need some help....got the AEs and EBs to light up as they are supposed to, but when i went to go put back everything together the diode was burning hot. Im not sure whats going on, i used all the parts recommended and followed all the instructions correctly. Only thing I did differently was snip both ends of the diode to make it shorter so i could do a cleaner job. Not sure if thats whats causing it. Also I soldered the diode about a couple inches out from the footwell light. The diode gets really hot within 5 or 10 seconds of activating the AEs and EBs...but if i turn on the parking lights, the heat goes away as quick as it came. Any suggestions? Thanks alot, great mod too!
