Been following this one since it started. Bought a pre-LCI high panel one year ago but it was lost in the mail, got my money back so all fine. Havn't got up to buying a new one yet.

Some things stop me from buying a new one.

- The LCI one has better functionalities, can someone explain me which ? Since the buttons are different I need to get the new frontpanel but also best would get the part the DVD drive and buttons. Is it realy worth it ?
- The was some confusion in the previous other topic about the rear vents. Since in the high version there is a sepperate fan for them they wouldn't work properly anymore. This would be def a no-go for me as I have kids at the back. Since on the low they work together with the front ones (middles ones ? ) I don't understand why this wouldn't be the case anymore with a the new control panel. Nothing changes to the ducts or flaps.

Just want to do it right, and don't want to regret it. Also plan on installing as many sensors as possible. Only some doubts about the air quality one, not so much info to be found about that one.

Sigh! Ok I will explain one more time. The ac high has 9 vent actuators and the basic has 6.
There is no rear fan but a vent actuator which diverts the air to the rear

Thx blood for the fast response, I am aware of these differences. Doesn't this then mean that the rear vents work just as before ? Or am I missing something ?

One other question : in WDS there is a Ventilation temperature sensor mentioned IKHA high only. "A sensor is integrated in the air duct to measure the ventilation temperatures. This sensor measures the delivery temperatue directly in the middle of the ventilation grile". I havn't seen this sensor mentioned here. Did you mount it ? I believe its sits on pin 24 of X1527

Could you explain why you prefere the LCI one ?

No it will not work, it will always be cold. Your not understanding what im writing, the rear vent has a vent actuator on the HIGH heater matrix which diverts warm air to the rear.

Yes I did put that sensor in, it helps the system run much better.

sorry blood but think you have misunderstood me, what I mean is that the rear vents work like before the conversion to high, meaning they blow air of the same temp as the middle front vents.
Like they normally do with the low matrix. They don't just blow cold air in the low version.

That air quality sensor seems the most difficult one to put in, is there a easy way to get the cables from the engine bay to the interior ?

The sensor in the centre vent connects to the blue plug on the IHKA, I don`t remember which pins it is

Got the unit and alsmost have all 4 sensors to do the retrofit.

Been studying abit more into the unit and am wondering the following.
It's not so difficult to replace the part of the duct where the flap for the rear vent is sitting. Well you have to dismantel a alot of the dashboard but I think it is possible to mount the extra flap for the rear vent onto the low version since it sits on a seperate piece of the duct (part 6). Not 100% it actually fits to the part on top of it as that changes also from low to high.
But would it actually function when offcourse also installing the actuator and the rear potentionmeter ? Is it just the flap or it there more to it ? Can't realy tell from the pictures or photo's I found.

Reason why I am asking this is that I was wrong, the rear vents don't blow hot air in the low verion, I def felt the warmer air when I first tried it, but now with the with the freezing temp its very clear its cold air. Would be nice if my kids at the rear could get some extra warm air.
