You can code the car with the jack being installed - you will not loose the bass. The Jack is a passive device and so the CCC does not know if the Aux jack is connected or not. The time when you loose the bass is when you connect the Aux jack and try and connect it to the CCC without the coding. The reason for that is input is a 'spare' unconfigured input until the car is coded to use it as the Aux. Yes you can very easily use your own stereo jack with 3 Tyco pins to make the connection to the back of the CCC/MASK. (part no 61130005197 should do the trick)

PS. An entire reprogram with not automatically give you the AUX-IN. Your dealer will need to ensure its done.

Thank you for your fast response.

I told the dealer to reprogram the entire car to the latest, because ive been having issues with the idrive and some tiptronic problems. they will do it under the warranty. So i told them to enable it at the same time. i hope they won forget it.

Hi Lucas,

The AUX unit comes with two connectors: round 3.5mm jack and rectangular connector (branch A2) with 3 wires connect to it. Disconnect three wires from that rectangular connector (A2 as instructed) and plug it into CCC rectangular connector (X13812) similar to the one comes with AUX cable.
You have to take that rectangular connector (X13812) out from big square connector that connects to CCC so you can easily plug three AUX wires to it.
At the end you'll have one unused connector (A2) which comes from AUX cable

As of now, no CD changer from E60 can play MP3. Only the slot in dash can play MP3 (both CD and DVD slots)

Appeciate all the info on this thread. I am getting contradictory information regarding the coexistence of aux input with cd changer. If the aux input is wired to the CCC, is there any reason I have to unplug the CD changer? Can they both work? (04 545, logic 7, nav, cd changer).

Thanks,

mdcyr

I am so confused and frustrated with this.

From the big wireharness in the back of the radio do I just unplug the existing black connector and plug in the one that came with the aux input? If i do this the bass dies so is that addressed when I get the software updated?

or

Do i need to unplug the pins from the aux adapter and merge them into the existing harness?

Hi all, I have a question about AUX input and MP3 activation trough SSS, having in mind that today Progman is about V31 version and my car is V29 or so (2007), is it necessary to load a full codification (4 or 5 hours) or is just a few minutes question?
Thanks in advance

I think you should merge with the existing connector

Alrighty, I own an 06 525 with Logic7 and cd changer. I used the method of connector X13812, pins 2, 7, 8, and since I did not buy an A2 equipped aux cable, I decided to make my own. When i removed my head unit, the mega block did not contain X13813, or A2 as specified in pdf. I made my own connector with tyco pins, and proceeded to connect up my aux jack, coded AUXIN aktiv in MASK and got the AUX option in iDrive. Now i'm stuck. NO bass!! The guys on here and elsewhere are saying you will get bass after dealer codes your car. Well, I'm not a dealer, but I coded AUXIN, did I miss something? Why do I have only the front door speakers playing? and why do I not have X13813 stock since I have a CD changer?

Thank you for the input, I will be doing more coding today. Can someone confirm i got the pins right? I can hear music playing, just in the front speakers, both sides.
