Wash, Clay, Polish, Wax every 3 to 6 months depending how close to perfect you want to keep it and how much time/money you want to spend.

Using a machine to apply a wax or sealant takes me as long as it would by hand. If it tells you anything; I have access to every pad, multiple products from different manufacturers and all styles of polishers but still wax every car by hand.

If it's a polish & wax combo, 'all in one' or 'one step' then I'd recommend a machine for best results- unless it's a product specifically designed for hand application.
