Got some new rims mounted and always had a big problem with brake dust. I'll upgrade the pads eventually but in the meantime I want to put was on the wheels. Any recommendation on wheel wax or a method for applying it? I would rather pick up something local rather than waiting to order it. Thanks

I would go with Meguiars M21 2.0 paint sealant (or NXT 2.0)! But before I would use a polish and shine them up! After you are done with the wheels you can do the rest of the car! Some will probibley bash me but because it's not from another country and expensive but you will be happy!

fk1000p

about as long lasting as it gets (which still isn't long enough). need to layer it (2x is good enough). 24 hrs or so between layers would be optimal.

opti-seal works pretty well too, just not as good as fk1000p.

I would recommend Swissvax Autobahn. Just apply Cleaner Fluid first. Otherwise the wax will not stay. Keep in mind that normal waxes, made for painted surface, do not stand the high temperatures of wheels. They may get as hot as 400-500 degrees celsius when you use brakes from high speeds.

Bets regards,

im a NXT 2.0 convert and no complaints here. granted, collinite lasts MUCH longer, but applying/removing it is just torture.

Starting Spring cleaning here, just got some Mother's wheel wax, but won't use until I get them clean. What a job after this winter!!! Will let you know how it goes.
