spray the car down first will be the best and wont be a much difference on the foam holding ability

And remember the "right" shampoo is the key to produce large amount of foams e.g CG Maxi Suds II,Megs Hyper wash or as BMWSTL recommed you the DP Xtreme Foam........

Normally i fill 1/4 shampoo and 3/4 bottle of warm water and this should gives u pretty good result!

Goodluck!

Keith
Thanks Keith

Cheers

Here's what I do when washing:

1) Rinse car
2) Foam car - allow to soak in.
3) Rinse car
4) Wash car with 2 buckets (one with your soapy water and one with your clean water to clean your mitts before going back in for more soap in the other bucket).
5) Rinse car
6) Dry car with microfiber towels
7) Get out Leaf Blower and blow every drop out of every crack.
8) Dry again
9) Spray car with Z6 Detail Spray or Z8 Grand Finale Spray

Done!
Perfect!!

And some people tend to wash the wheels while waiting it soak in (process 2), but i tend to wash it before rinsing the car (process 1).

Wheels is a whole other story. I have 2 separate buckets, mitts, soap, spray, wax and process for doing my wheels AND tires. Yes, I'm anal. Hahahahaha!

As an FYI, I do my wheels before I wash the car. Why? Because I don't feel like bending down on the ground when all the foam and water is beneath me. I prefer having dry ground, so I can get into the wheel wells too.

I placed my order from autogeek as well. I hope the Foam Cannon works as noted. I cleaned my car this weekend and it pained me to try and remove the road grime & salt on the fenders after one week of driving between washes.

Really? I am kinda lazy person so i just spray some wheels cleanser on and work it with some brushes and rinsing it with plenty of water at the end. (No bucket used )

How long does it take you to do the whole washing routine? Wheels and car wash and QD (Z6/Z8)

I do mine in an hour time inc cleaning all the doors, boot and bonnet shuts.........Sounds a bit long isn't it

It's not going to loosen road tar on your car, so I don't want to get your hopes up. Only a tar remover can do that. It's more for just loosening all the dirt, dust, and grime off the car, so you don't mix it around with your mitts once you start washing.

You'll like it. I can tell you right off the bat that you will see less swirl marks on your car washing it this way now. That I can promise you.

Spray some APC (All Purpose Cleanser) or degreaser at the lower part of the car or inner arches before you foam the car could make you much easiler to remove road dirts and grime.

But too much APC will strip the wax and sealant...so be careful!!

C is right "Tar remover" could remove grimes and dirts without touching your paintwork...

For tar and other tough road grime I use Meguiars Cleaner Wax, this stuff instantly gets rid of the narliest junk.... works great on wheels too !

How much time do you allow between foaming and rinsing (i.e., how long do you let it soak)? I've read that if you wait too long the shampoo could strip the polish (but I have no idea if that's correct or not).

Thanks for the pointer. It's not tar, but just salt and dirt so it comes off pretty easy. In Vancouver when it gets within a few degrees of freezing the road crews are salting everywhere. Within a day of washing the lower 6 inches of the car looks like you have been mud bogging. I just want the foam cannon to loosen this material so I don't risk swirls with a mitt.
