Alot of people are starting to use them more and more, I just bought one from autogeek.net, and C, and Fminus use them to do their cars. you should check out Fminus's work on this site under detailing he has probably the most experience with the foam cannons. I will be getting mine tommorow and plan to use it on my 5 and my Yukon. Will post pics...Hope this helps.

FYI, the quart Foamaster Foam Gun is on sale at Autogeek ($10 off; I believe through 12/3):
Foam Gun Link
DP Xtreme Foam is also on sale (-$5 32 oz., -$10 128 oz.):

And, you get $10 off your next order. If you buy $75, input "AGO" in the code field for free shipping. Pretty good deal.

This is the 2nd Gen of gilmour foam gun which i have got:
http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/washing-dryi...i/prod_329.html
And this is how it would look like:
Source from: www.detailingworld.co.uk
Pro-detailers use it for pre-soak the car (Not wash the car) which soften the surface dirt and grime first, but it still need to wash it with two buckets method if you want a swirls free car.
Most pros prefer foam lance (Work with pressure jet) rather than this foam gun (Work with hose) as the foams from foam lance will stay on the car much much longer!

spray the car down first will be the best and wont be a much difference on the foam holding ability
And remember the "right" shampoo is the key to produce large amount of foams e.g CG Maxi Suds II,Megs Hyper wash or as BMWSTL recommed you the DP Xtreme Foam........
Normally i fill 1/4 shampoo and 3/4 bottle of warm water and this should gives u pretty good result!
Goodluck!

1) Rinse car
2) Foam car - allow to soak in.
3) Rinse car
4) Wash car with 2 buckets (one with your soapy water and one with your clean water to clean your mitts before going back in for more soap in the other bucket).
5) Rinse car
6) Dry car with microfiber towels
7) Get out Leaf Blower and blow every drop out of every crack.
8) Dry again
9) Spray car with Z6 Detail Spray or Z8 Grand Finale Spray
Done!
