My daughters 2002 jag has oxidation on the hood, that seemed to go away when I compounded the hood but it always reappears in a couple of days. Do any of you have any ideas of what I should use to get rid of this problem permanently? I used an over the counter product called rubbing compound with hand application and with a Porter-Cable 7424 6" Random-Orbit Polisher Buffer . It looks really good and then in a couple of days the discoloration is back.

Are they FULLY cured before you buff off the sealant and did you wait the sealant to sit-in your paint before you apply the wax? and wht compound have you used?

Sounds wired...cos It should not re-appear if it sealed properly.

I used turtle wax polishing compound, then I placed jetseal 109 and it said on the bottle to wait 20 mins, and I did. I then applied a wax that came from cg with the jetseal. Do you think 20 mins wasnt enough wait time?

Sounds like you took the usual detailing steps to restore the finish on the Jag.

A while back some automotive finishes didn't hold up well over time and the damage was blamed on industrial fallout etc. In one case I recall Ford finally agreeing to issue a recall but don't remember the details.

If your paint wasn't damaged by aggressive rubbing compounds and the fault is with the paint itself you might try a warranty claim (under the corrosion coverage??? ). Even if the car itself is out of warranty in the interest of customer satisfaction Jag might agree to repainting a panel or the whole car .

I would probably wash/clay the car, then use a strong compound maybe like Menzerna Power Gloss Compound and a more aggressive pad, I"m going to say either its etched into the clear or you didn't fully break down the compound.

If its etched into the paint there isn't much you can do but wetsand or compound.
