I hope that my car is on the same vessel. I have not been able to confirm that information though. I checked owners circle, talked to BMW NA and talked to my dealer. Nobody has any further information on it. Last status they show is that I picked it up in Munich. I hope this is all just a delay in paperwork and information flow. Not a delay in actually shipping my car.

Just got a letter from BMW and my car is also on the GRUS. Target arrival date is 2/26. Yeah!!!

Now, where can I track the vessel?
I guess I need to do a search. I remember some posts on it.

It looks like our cars were produced around the same time. I believe my production started around Jan. 13th, 2005. I was told by BMW my 545 is on its way on a ship, but they (800 number customer service) didn't know the ships name yet. I'm in California so the arrival port is down in Oxnard/Ventura, California. Thanks for sharing the projected timeline. My guess is I have about 1 month to go still.

Yes, if your production complete date was the same as mine, it most certainly will be on the same ship. Call your dealer and request the ships name. He should be able to give that to you with the arrival date. My dealer told me it was on the Grus (NYK vessel) with an arrival date of 2.25.05.

I know that the Grus is due in at Jacksonville, Florida this Friday, 2.11.05. From there it takes another 2 weeks to get to California. Then its another 10 days to your dealer. I have a priority one car, which is a car that is already sold and is processed as fast as possible.

But I will let you know if I have any more information.

Leonard.

Thats the best part of the Grus. You cannot track it. Just sit and wait patiently. Call the dealer in the fourth week.

vern,

its not a form, its a Microsoft Project Schedule. I can email you the file and if you have Project loaded on your PC, you can start inputing your dates. Let me know.

Leonard.

I'll try to attach it here. Just tried, this website wouldn't let me. Send me your email address.
I need to revise my last post, the dealer just called, after saying he'd have the car by yesterday (Friday Statement), it looks like the car won't be at the dealer until next Monday or Tuesday, with an outside shot at Friday.? That fits the 10 day schedule you all have expected.

It's frustrating to have gotten geared up to pick up the car in the next 24 hours, then find out your wait is another week or so.

10 days is exactly what I have on my schedule.

I guess I have been making the wrong assumption on the status numbers/titles. I did not have the numbers (i.e. 190) between 180 and 193 so had assumed 193 -195 referred to the car getting loaded on the ship and ship departing. Reading your chart I see 190 is the departure and 193-195 refer to the arrival in USA and subsequent processing to the dealer. I will just have to update my Project file to reflect the correct numbers. Thanks for keeping yours up to date and sharing
